1050 SF Remodel + 410 SF Addition; Completed in 2012
Juxtaposing this home’s strong ceiling plane with two thick walls that encourage passage and utilizing the existing dramatic angle creates three distinct but well-connected spaces. The entry wing now welcomes visitors to the home and spills out onto the patio. The living room joint expands to include a “community room,” an indoor-outdoor place for crafts and playing together that opens onto an enchanted back garden. Finally, a cubby wall opens with a bright barn door into an expanded bedroom wing that has a secret passage between the kid’s rooms, a vaulted master bedroom, and a master deck perched over the home’s original rhododendron garden.
